Breastfeeding Friendly Employer Applicaton

The New Hampshire Breastfeeding Task Force recognizes workplaces and childcare
programs that provide exceptional support for breastfeeding families. Applications are accepted
January 1– April 1, each year and awards are presented at the annual conference in June.

Who Can Apply?
New Hampshire employers that have established and maintain comprehensive, high-quality
lactation support for their employees beyond federal requirements found here:

Requirements:

  • Written breastfeeding policy that is communicated and shared with all employees.

  • Private, secure room (not a bathroom) with a lockable door.

  • Comfortable chair.

  • Flexible (paid or unpaid) breaks of at least 15-20 minutes every 2-3 hours.  Milk

expression breaks will vary dependent on individual needs of the infant, employee and
employer.

​Why Apply?
Achieving the requirements for the award validates an employer’s commitment to supporting
working parents. Awarded organizations receive recognition on the Task Force website and at
the annual conference.
